Murder-accused escapes from hospital, 4 cops arrested

Vadodara: Four policemen were arrested after an inmate of the Jhalod sub-jail in Dahod district escaped from a hospital on Friday. The Jhalod circle police inspector has been handed over investigations in the case and the four policemen were arrested,” said Dahod superintendent of police Hitesh Joysar. On Thursday night he sought that he should be taken to a doctor as he was in pain. He added that the policemen will be produced before a court on Saturday. While sources said that a police constable took him to the hospital without other personnel accompanying him, the Dahod police said that this would be confirmed only after investigations.Ninama allegedly foxed the police constable and ran away from the hospital.

The inmate had complained of complications due to piles and was taken to the Jhalod government hospital for treatment.The accused Nagesh Ninama was lodged in the sub-jail as he was facing a murder trial under the Indian Pendal Code and the Arms Act as he had used a firearm for the crime.Ninama was suffering from piles and had taken treatment last year. However, he continued to suffer from the ailment. On Thursday night he sought that he should be taken to a doctor as he was in pain. While sources said that a police constable took him to the hospital without other personnel accompanying him, the Dahod police said that this would be confirmed only after investigations.Ninama allegedly foxed the police constable and ran away from the hospital. When he could not be located, the Jhalod executive magistrate and other senior police officials were informed regarding the incident.“An offence against four policemen on duty at the Jhalod sub-jail as well as Ninama was registered at the Jhalod police station. The Jhalod circle police inspector has been handed over investigations in the case and the four policemen were arrested,” said Dahod superintendent of police Hitesh Joysar. He added that the policemen will be produced before a court on Saturday.
