Light and sound show tells Somnath story

SOMNATH: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Friday inaugurated the 'light and sound show' at Somnath temple. In 2014-15, over 45 lakh tourists visited the temple. Bachhan is also the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism. In 2015-16, the number to tourists rose to over 48 lakh while in 2016-17, around 50 lakh tourists visited this temple.In the 3-D version of the light and sound show, the voice over will be given by Amitabh Bachhan. Tourist visiting Somnath can get detailed information about the temple from the show.Somnath temple is situated on the coast of the Indian ocean in Prabhas Patan (Somnath) of Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat.

The Shivalinga at this historic temple is considered the first among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva across the country.The state-of-the-art light and sound show has been designed to illustrate the history and historical culture of the temple. Tourist visiting Somnath can get detailed information about the temple from the show.Somnath temple is situated on the coast of the Indian ocean in Prabhas Patan (Somnath) of Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat. The number of tourists has gradually increased over the years. In 2014-15, over 45 lakh tourists visited the temple. In 2015-16, the number to tourists rose to over 48 lakh while in 2016-17, around 50 lakh tourists visited this temple.In the 3-D version of the light and sound show, the voice over will be given by Amitabh Bachhan. Bachhan is also the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism. The show is equipped with 3D projector, mapping, light designing and programming. The show, with special effects, will run for 35 minutes in both English and Hindi languages. The show has cost Rs 4.74 crore to make and 1,000 visitors can watch it at a time.Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel; chairman of Shri Somnath trust Keshubhai Patel; Devsthan and yatradham development minister Dilipbhai Thakor; water supply minister Babu Bokhiriya; minister of tribal development and tourism Ganpat Vasava and others attended the inauguration.
