Former MP too demands CBI probe against MSU VC

Vadodara: Former Vadodara Member of Parliament (MP) Satyajit Gaekwad on Tuesday demanded a CBI inquiry to probe corruption allegations against MSU vice-chancellor (VC) professor Parimal Vyas.Alleging rampant corruption in the university, Gaekwad alleged that Vyas had misappropriated funds of the central government. "I had tendered my resignation as dean on my own and not because of any scam," he said. "We believe in transparency and we are ready to provide all the details and documents to whichever agency which wants to conduct any kind of inquiry," Vyas said, adding that he has not received any complaint either from Joshi or from Gaekwad. "All the accounts of commerce faculty during my deanship have been audited and there is no financial scam against me," said Vyas, who also refuted the claim that he was asked to resign as dean of commerce. "It is unfortunate that such corrupt person is handling the affairs at the university," he said.Vyas refuted the allegations levelled by Gaekwad on Tuesday and senate member Kapil Joshi, who on Monday had submitted a complaint with the anti-corruption bureau.
