'Padmaavat' release a smooth affair in Vijaywada

The much-anticipated movie Padmaavat has smoothly hit the screens in the city. More than Padmaavat, people are interested in Bhaagamathie which has similarities to the star’s blockbuster Arundhati. Police have stepped up vigil at cinemas in Gandhi Nagar and other areas of the city where the movie was released. The exhibitors ensured that no outdoor publicity was given for the movie keeping in mind the threat of screening being disrupted by protesters. They alleged that the cinema intends to hurt the feelings of Hindu religion.

On Wednesday, members of Hindu organisations staged protests at the Dharna Chowk in the city demanding that State government withdraw the decision to allow the controversial cinema. They alleged that the cinema intends to hurt the feelings of Hindu religion. All eyes on Bhaagamathie However, the Telugu and Hindi versions of the movie were released only in about dozen cinemas, including five multiplexes, on Thursday, the first day, and the number of the screens may even come down as Bhaagamathie, the movie of Baahubali star Anushka Shetty, is going to be released in a big way on Friday. “After a long delay caused by legal issues, we are able to finally watch the movie only now and there was no objectionable content as alleged,” said a youngster Preeti at a multiplex near Maris Stella College.
