VIJAYAWADA: Food security is our top priority and none from the state shall starve, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu after inaugurating Anna Canteens at Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available at these canteens for just Rs 5. Anna Canteens were also launched in Visakhapatnam . Naidu officially inaugurated 103 Anna Canteens across the state and asked people to lend their support.TDP is committed to food security and former minister NT Rama Rao was the first to introduce a scheme of providing rice to the poor for Rs 2/kg, said Naidu.Following the CM’s request, several people came forward in support of the scheme. Mandava Kutumba Rao, a city-based electrician, donated Rs 1 lakh and promised to donate 10 tonnes of vegetables every month. Also, Krishna district Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha donated Rs 1 lakh and legislator Jallel Khan and city mayor Koneru Sridhar donated Rs 25,000 each.
