Murder convict ends life in jail

A man convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment committed suicide in Madanapalle sub-jail in Chittoor district on Thursday.He was identified as Sheik Mastan Vali (26), a native of Kurabalakota. He was to be shifted to Kadapa Central Jail and came on Tuesday night only after the court verdict. Angered by her move, Mastan Vali abducted the woman’s son on August 28, 2015 and murdered the child. Against his wishes, the woman left for Kuwait in search of job opportunities on August 12, 2015.

A man convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment committed suicide in Madanapalle sub-jail in Chittoor district on Thursday.He was identified as Sheik Mastan Vali (26), a native of Kurabalakota. He was convicted on Tuesday by the court for murdering a four-year-old boy who was the son of his paramour.Mastan Vali was depressed over the verdict.According to jail officials, he was seen crying on Wednesday and said he was feeling sorry for his wife as he married her without telling her that he was an accused in a murder case.Mastan Vali was having an affair with a married woman of his village. Against his wishes, the woman left for Kuwait in search of job opportunities on August 12, 2015. Angered by her move, Mastan Vali abducted the woman’s son on August 28, 2015 and murdered the child. He later hid the boy’s body in a function hall.Later, he was arrested by police and was sent to jail. However, after coming out on bail during the trial, he married another woman without telling her that he was a murder accused.Jail superintendent N Venugopal Reddy said he was depressed about the fact that he had cheated his wife. He was to be shifted to Kadapa Central Jail and came on Tuesday night only after the court verdict. He committed suicide by hanging himself using a cloth in the prison washroom in the wee hours of Thursday.“We immediately shifted him to hospital but it was too late by then as the doctors declared him brought dead,” Venugopal Reddy said.
