Naidu directs officials to visit villages twice a week

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed public officials in the State to visit villages twice a week and resolve problems of people there. He said on Mondays and Saturdays, officials would attend regular duties and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, they would visit villages under Grama Darsini, which was six-month-long. Under the programme, all public officials including IAS, IPS and IFS officers should make night halts at villages to understand the problems of people there and take steps to resolve them, said Mr. Naidu. Mr. Naidu said villagers should have a fair understanding of the public distribution system (PDS), Chandranna Bima, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and job opportunities in the State. Addressing a review meeting with officials of the planning department, Mr. Naidu said that the Grama Darsini programme would be organised across 13 districts of the State from July 16, marking 1,500 days of his government.
