more-in Former MP Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy on Wednesday, blamed the State government for neglecting the welfare of people and said that they were being subjected toinjustice since the beginning of the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) regime. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Reddy said that the Gundrevula project, envisaged with a cost of ?2700 crore and to supply 20 tmc (thousand million cubic feet) water, during his tenure as a minister, is still on paper and alleged that the TDP was making plans to deplete water resources in the district. “As the past election result was not favourable to the TDP, it seems that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was utilising this to push forward the preparation of a detailed project report with a total outlay of ?3,61,75,000 crore, to lift water from Tungabhadra river in between RDS canal to Sunkesula reservoir to Penna Ahobilam Balancing Reservoir (PABR) dam of Anantapur district, as mentioned in the government order (G.O.) No. 277 dated 13/04/2018. They are planning to deploy 15 high powered motors to steal 20 tmc water to the aforementioned dam,” he alleged. Mr. Reddy said that they were not against sharing water with Anantapur district but it should not be done at the cost of the residents of Kurnool district. He criticised the indifferent attitude of the people's representatives towards the issue. Call for unity “Though we have Srisailam dam, there is no water for us. Cutting across party lines and their political affiliations, leaders should come together and fight for people’s welfare instead of furthering their own political gains. Their negligence will reflect in the next elections and result in the demise of TDP and YSR Congress Party ,” he added.
