VIJAYAWADA: After the family members of Movva Guruva Reddy protested seeking justice for his suicide, cops have arrested four people including his wife under the charges of abetment on Saturday.Guruva Reddy ended his life by jumping in front of a train near Vijayawada railway station on July 3 after shooting a selfie video explaining his reasons for the extreme measure. On Saturday morning, cops arrested Guruva Reddy’s wife Gayathri, her brother Sudhir and her parents Anuradha and Kameswara Rao and produced them before the city court which remanded them to judicial custody till August 2.Guruva Reddy categorically blamed his wife and her brother for his decision to end his life alleging that they have humiliated him by getting him arrested on July 1 for harassment.“After cops arrested my son with his wife’s complaint, he got depressed and committed suicide. Prior taking him into custody, police should have conducted a detailed investigation. It is evident that police supported them," family members of Guruva Reddy rued.However, cops stated that both the cases are different and that they had summoned Guruva Reddy only to counsel him as per the procedures laid out by the Supreme Court.After his demise, Government Railway Police registered a suicide case and also added section 306A of IPC (abetment of suicide) and transferred to Krishna Lanka police station.
