Naidu asks energy dept to speed up infra development

In a teleconference with officials of the energy department and APIIC, he said, “Our government gives equal priority to generate employment through the MSME sector at local level on par with major sectors like IT. Around 8,926 acres have been identified in 96 constituencies so far to set up MSME clusters. Now we have to focus on providing better and quality services to encourage the MSME sector, which can generate employment to many youths at their villages.”According to officials, the state government already established around 29,020 MSMEs during the last four years with an investment of Rs 13,053 crore.Around 3,36,811 people have been provided employment through the MSMEs. Amaravati: Even as the state government is all set to launch Micro Small Medium Small Enterprises (MSME) 31 clusters in 31 constituencies next month, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed energy department to speed up the infrastructure works to provide highest quality of power supply to new industrial parks across the state.He said that though the state government is providing 24x7 quality power supply and ensuring no interruptions in power supply to industries too, special focus has to be given to micro, small and medium Enterprises (MSME) parks, which would play an important role in generating employment at the local level.As per the 2018-19 budget, MSME parks would come up in 175 Assembly constituencies in a phased manner and the state government allocated Rs 200 crore to the MSME sector.
