VIJAYAWADA: A man was lynched by his friend’s husband on suspicion of extra-marital affair, near Vijayawada Airport at Gannavaram. The incident happened on August 16, however, cops identified and retrieved the body late Saturday night.The victim was identified as Ramanjeneya Sharma. According to Krishna Lanka police, they received a missing complaint from Sharma’s wife on August 16. Krishna Lanka circle inspector Chandrasekhar said that they have received the body of Sharma from the Gannavaram police. Based on the decomposed state of the body found at Durgapuram, cops said that the man must have been thrashed to death on August 16 itself. Local witnesses explained that they did see three persons thrashing the man at the area.Cops said that there wasn’t any extra-marital affair and that they suspect that the husband along with two of his friends committed the crime on mere suspicion after noticing that they were chatting on WhatsApp and Facebook . The chat records also did not indicate any intimacy between them. Cops said that they are still investigating the case and that the accused are currently absconding.Sharma’s body has been sent to Vijayawada Government General Hospital (GGH) for post-mortem. Cops registered a case under section 302 of IPC (murder) at Krishna Lanka Police Station. The investigation is still on to trace the whereabouts of the accused.
