Police book case against Vasantha

The Ibrahimpatnam police on Monday registered a case against former Home Minister Vasantha Nageswara Rao for allegedly obstructing public servants from discharging their duties and threatening them with dire consequences. Mr. Nageswara Rao said that he was very friendly with the panchayat secretary and would never threaten him. Meanwhile, Mr. Nageswara Rao alleged that Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was resorting to petty politics as he was unsure of winning in his constituency. Water Users’ Association apex committee member Alla Gopala Krishna Rao demanded a thorough inquiry into the case to ensure that justice was done. Following a complaint lodged by Guntupalli panchayat secretary Narashima Rao on Sunday that Mr. Nageswara Rao abused him over the phone and threatened on erecting banners and pasting posters of the YSR Congress Party, the police booked a case against and took up investigation.

He said in all his political career he never saw violence as an instrument to resolve problems. It was Devineni family members that brought violence and blood to Nandigama taluk, he charged. Mr. Nageswara Rao said that he was very friendly with the panchayat secretary and would never threaten him. Water Users’ Association apex committee member Alla Gopala Krishna Rao demanded a thorough inquiry into the case to ensure that justice was done.
