City youths sign up with food delivery apps to earn money

Now, some of the workers from renowned franchises are shifting their jobs to the food delivery apps as the incentives and pay stand more lucrative.Swiggy, which touts itself as an India’s largest food ordering and delivery platform was the last one to launch its service in Andhra Pradesh in September. When asked if Swiggy would have further expansion plans across Andhra Pradesh and Amaravati, the representative said, “Swiggy has rapid expansion plans and will move to newer cities. Officials attribute towards the big restaurant businesses and migrant population. However, they were quick to overtake Uber Eats and Zomato in terms of restaurant partnerships with lucrative offers in a span of one week.Sanjana Shetty, who works in the corporate communication department said that Swiggy is already seeing unprecedented orders in the city. We are expecting the same love from all cities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana that we will launch in in the coming months.”However, all the applications do not cover the outskirts of the city and mainly focuses maximum till Enikepadu area at NH 16, excluding residents of Nidamanuru.

Vijayawada: Many youths, including students and women, are increasingly taking part time jobs of food delivery in the city in the past three months as several food ordering apps like Zomato, Swiggy and Uber Eats have come into being.K Sai Durga, a worker of Zomato said that the job has become competitive now in the city as they are getting target-based incentives based on the time and number of deliveries.Before Swiggy, the city had a few start-ups like ‘Munch Em’ catering the food delivery service but it was restricted to a limited number of restaurants and localities. But now, companies have taken cognizance of the demands and responded to it quickly.For instance, Uber Eats started its business before it even launched its cab service in the city.With all the food delivery giants looking to expand their business in the city, opportunities for people looking to make a part-time or full-time income stands more competitive in the city.Previously, food delivery business was pretty much restricted to a few private hotels and pizza franchises.
