Three kg gold, 38 lakh seized from Andhra Pradesh official's lockers

VIJWAYWADA: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials opened five bank lockers of tainted AP Education Welfare and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APEWIDC) chief engineer Bhumireddy Jagadiswar Reddy (59) in Hyderabad on Thursday. Nearly 3 kg gold and Rs 38 lakh in cash were seized from the lockers.The ACB officials opened two lockers at the Andhra Bank branch in Bagh Amberpet, two lockers at Andhra Bank branch in Ramanthapur and one locker at Kotak Mahindra Bank branch in Uppal. DSP of ACB (central investigating unit) Rama Devi said: "All the items found in the lockers have been seized.The details have been attached to the case chargesheet" ACB officials reckon the recovered gold is worth more than Rs 1 crore.
