Briefing the media, BC Welfare Minister K. Atchannaidu said the government was extending all possible help such as subsidised power to the industry. The GoM, headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishunudu, also decided to recommend to the government to pay the bills directly to the companies for the cement supplied for government work. The GoM also gave a grace time of two days to fall in line and sell the cement at ?310 per bag. The companies, however, were not adhering to the prices fixed by it. Taking a serious note of violation of the State government directives, the Group of Ministers (GoM) on cement prices met at the Secretariat on Wednesday and warned the companies that the government would be forced to rethink on the incentives, subsidies etc provided to them.
