The team, including Amith Bysani, CEO, Abhinesh, Marketing Manager and Sharath, Social Media Manager from AP and Prudhvi, Operations Manager, and Chaitanya S, Supply Chain Executive from Telangana, recently floated the startup Supralax Electronics, registered in Anantapur through which they are going to produce MuConnect 2.0. Earlier, the team licensed the core technology from Conzumex and made MuConnect 1.0. “The first MuConnect was launched through Indiegogo campaign in 2016 and was backed 5,780 persons with $245,272 from 92 countries. We sold over 16, 000 products that were manufactured at the plant in Pune. Now, the much stronger and smarter second version of MuConnect is up for crowdfunding on the same platform and we have got about $22,184 from backers abroad and from Indian backers we received ?15,000 in India since Wednesday,” says Abhinesh, who is a native of Vijayawada. MuConnect 2.0 “The charger comprises of a Mu-pin compatible with lightning, micro USB and the latest USB-C smartphone ports and a cable. The pin should be inserted into the phones charging port. Both the components connect instantly whenever brought closer and charging begins,” he said. Cross compatibility, fast charging and data sync and protection are the special features embedded in the device. The startup has patented and certified the technologies used in bringing out the mobile accessory. Plant in Anantapur Supralax Electronics is contemplating to set up its next plant in Anantapur. “Anantapur was our first choice but due to various reasons, we moved to Pune where there is an existing ecosystem. Now, once the crowdfunding is done, we will bring up a manufacturing facility in Anantapur town. The AP government is also cooperative and promised necessary help to set up the unit,” Mr. Abhinesh said. “The town also has a cluster of engineering colleges from where we can source skilled engineers,” he added. MuConnect 2.0 is currently available for crowdfunding on Indiegogo.com for worldwide backers and Fueladream.com for Indian backers.
