Karan Johar has done an impossible thing by bringing back the iconic onscreen couple of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in his next period drama ‘Kalank’ which is all set to release next year in April.

Confirming the news of their comeback together, both Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit shared the poster of the film on their Twitter handles

The two will be seen in this film together after almost a gap of 25 years and this is making us nostalgic and seems like we are back to the era of the 1990s when Sanjay and Madhuri created headlines for their alleged romantic relationship.

Talking about old times, in an interview to a leading tabloid Madhuri spoke about Sanjay quite openly. She said, “My favourite partner is Sanjay Dutt, he’s a real joker…and his stories make me laugh all the time, but he is also a gentleman,”

In another one she was quoted saying, “Sanju is a fantastic person. He has a loving heart and, in contrast to the widely held view, a good sense of humour. He is the only guy who makes me laugh all the time. He does not play games. He is open and uncomplicated.”

Well, her interviews led to strong whispers of a mutual attraction between the two. However, nothing was confirmed by the two. And then came the 1993 Bomb Blast case where Sanjay Dutt was convicted and it marked the end of the couple’s alleged love affair.

When the interviewer asked Dutt how he felt when Madhuri categorically denied being involved with him, he replied, “I didn’t get affected by her statement. I have been her colleague and I have done a lot of films with her. See, I need to establish a proper rapport with all my co-stars, it may be Madhuri or Sridevi.”
