New Delhi: Apple on Friday announced the iPhone 11 Display Module Replacement Program for Touch Issues that will repair iPhone 11 models with touch issues manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020. iPhone 11 owners with touch screen problems can enter the unit`s serial number into an automated verification system on Apple`s support website or https://support.apple.com/iphone-11-display-module-replacement-program. If eligible, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace or repair the device free of charge.

"Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module. Affected devices were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020," Apple notes on the repaid program support page. To get their iPhone 11 serviced, users can either find an Apple authorised service provider, make an appointment at Apple retail store, or contact Apple support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple repair center. Apple notes that it will first verify if the users are eligible for the free repair program and only then it will move ahead with the servicing. It also suggests that the user gets a backup of the iPhone on iCloud or their computers.

Apple notes that users should get any existing issues fixed before they apply for the repair program. "If your iPhone 11 has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the repair, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved before the service."

According to Apple, users can contact Apple for a refund if they have already paid Apple or its service providers issues about the touch screen in iPhone 11. The repair program is worldwide. However, Apple notes that it may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase. Further, the repair program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the iPhone 11. The program covers affected iPhone 11 devices for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
