Games are compelling but do we need Big Brother to tell us?

So why do we need the WHO to tell us that ‘gaming disorder’ is a ‘thing’ and a health problem? Last year it added ‘gaming disorder’ to its list of potential health problems. The WHO has been looking at the issue of games for some years apparently. It is also true that the thirst for online games, for Facebook, Twitter and the rest is beginning to wane. Yet the vast majority of people know when to stop or have parents, peer groups or friends who will tell them when to stop.
