JEE Advanced 2020 registration begins today: IIT Delhi to conduct exams this year

Qualified candidates of JEE Mains can now register for JEE Advanced at jeeadv.ac.in. This year IIT Delhi will be conducting exams. It will be held on September 27. The last date to register is September 17 2020 however candidates can pay the application fee till 18th September.

After JEE Mains, JEE Advances is the final step to take admission and get selected in prestigious engineering college. Those who clear this final exam will get a seat in undergraduate engineering college in IITs based on rank and counseling but not everyone who cleared JEE Main is applicable to apply. Only the top 2.5 lakh rank holder in Mains are eligible to apply for advanced paper.

The registration process for JEE Advanced will begin at jeeadv.ac.in. This year IIT Delhi will conduct exam the last to register is 17 September a registration fee of 2800 will be applicable for females and reserved category candidates the applicable fee is 1400, for foreign nationals the fee is USD 150 for SAARC nations it is USD 75.

JEE Advanced 2020 will consist of two question papers to be solved within three hours each both the papers are compulsory. Each question paper will consist of three separate sections of physics, chemistry and mathematics. As per the guidelines by IIT questions on paper will test the ‘’comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates’’. The exam is held in computer based mode meanwhile mock test will also be made available at the website as per the IIT.

Only pen, pencil, drinking water in transparent bottle a downloaded admit card and original photo identity card is to be taken inside the examination hall. This year just like Mains the JEE Advanced exams will be held amid social distancing norms wearing a mask and carrying a sanitizer is also mandatory. Ranks will be prepared by taking out aggregated marks obtained in both the exams. The exam will also have negative marking.

IITs will follow the method- candidates having more positive answers will be given higher rank. In case of tie the higher rank will be given to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in mathematics, the same will be followed in case of physics as well, if the tie continues both candidates will be given same ranks.
