Pune Lok Sabha Election 2024 LIVE News: 35.61% Of Voters Have Cast Ballots So Far; BJP`s Murlidhar Kisan Mohol Faces Congress` Ravindra Dhangekar

Pune Election 2024 phase 4 LIVE Voting News: Pune is witnessing polling in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections today, May 13. Pune is among the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. Over the years, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has held a strong presence in this constituency. In the upcoming 2024 elections, the BJP, in alliance with Shiv Sena and NCP, will field Murlidhar Kisan Mohol as their candidate for the Pune seat. On the other hand, Congress, in collaboration with Shiv Sena and NCP, has announced Ravindra Dhangekar as their candidate. In the 2019 general elections, Girish Bhalchandra Bapat from the BJP emerged as the winner in Pune, securing 632,835 votes. Congress Mohan Joshi was the runner-up with 308,207 votes. Similarly, in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, BJPs Anil Shirole won the Pune constituency with 569,825 votes, defeating Congress Dr. Vishwajeet Patangrao Kadam, who secured 254,056 votes. The election results will be declared on June 4, determining the future representation of Pune in the Lok Sabha. Pune Lok Sabha Elections LIVE News: - Till 3 pm, Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of  42.35 per cent. Constituencies such as Pune registered 35.61 percent, Jalgaon 42.15 per cent, Jalna 47.51 per cent, Nandurbar 49.91 per cent, Shirur 36.43 per cent, Ahmednagar 41.35 per cent, Aurangabad 43.76 per cent, Beed 46.49 per cent, Maval 36.54 per cent, Raver 45.26 per cent, and Shirdi 44.87 per cent. - Actor Subodh Bhave casted his vote and shared a family photograph on Instagram.       View this post on Instagram A post shared by Suneet S Bhave (suneetbhave) - Till 1 pm, Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of  30.85 per cent. Constituencies such as Pune registered 26.48 percent, Jalgaon 31.70 per cent, Jalna 34.42 per cent, Nandurbar 37.33 per cent, Shirur 26.62 per cent, Ahmednagar 29.45 per cent, Aurangabad 32.37 per cent, Beed 33.65 per cent, Maval 26.48 per cent, Raver 32.02 per cent and Shirdi 30.49 per cent. - Arvind Shinde, the Pune Congress chief, was unable to cast his vote as he alleged that someone had already voted using his name. - In Maharashtra, Pankaja Munde, the BJP candidate for the Beed parliamentary constituency, voted at a polling station in Beed. Meanwhile, the NCP-SCP has nominated Bajrang Manohar Sonwale for the Beed Lok Sabha seat. - Till 11 am, Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of  17.51 per cent. Constituencies such as Pune registered 16.16 percent, Jalgaon 16.89 per cent, Jalna 21.35 per cent, Nandurbar 22.12 per cent, Shirur 14.51 per cent, Ahmednagar 14.74 per cent, Aurangabad 19.53 per cent, Beed 16.62 per cent, Maval 14.87 per cent, Raver 19.03 per cent, and Shirdi 18.91 per cent. - Amol Palekar and Sandhya Gokhale postponed their voting at Kalmadi Shamrao School due to the morning rush. Additionally,  Veteran actor, director and psychiatrist Dr. Mohan Agashe have exercised his vote at Bhandarkar road. - Air Chief Marshal Pradeep Vasant Naik expressed surprise as his wifes name, Madhubala, was deleted from the voters list at a polling booth in Pune. Despite having the necessary slips, they were unable to resolve the issue. Similarly, during the mock polls in Pune, 37 ballot units, 13 control units, and 17 VVPATs were exchanged. - Till 9 am, Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of  6.45 per cent. Constituencies such as Pune registered 6.61 percent, Jalgaon 6.14 per cent, Jalna 6.88 per cent, Nandurbar 8.43 per cent, Shirur 4.97 per cent, Ahmednagar 5.13 per cent, Aurangabad 7.52 per cent, Beed 6.72 per cent, Maval 5.38 per cent, Raver 7.14 per cent, and Shirdi 6.83 per cent. - Prior to polling in Pune city, Shirur, and Maval Lok Sabha constituencies, confusion arose among voters regarding cellphone usage inside polling centers. Pune police clarified that voters must switch off phones before entering. District Collector Suhas Diwase stated cellphones are banned within a 100-meter radius. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar affirmed strict implementation while ensuring minimal impact on voting. - Ravindra Dhangekar, the Congress candidate, along with his wife Pratibha and son Pranav, casted their vote at the polling station located in Kamala Nehru School, situated in Punes Raviwar Peth. - Chandrakant Patil, a leader of the BJP and the legislator representing Kothrud, cast his vote in the Kothrud constituency. He had shifted his voter registration from Kolhapur to Pune. - In Maharashtra, visuals of prayers being offered at the home of BJP candidate Murlidhar Mohol in Pune, coinciding with the commencement of voting for the fourth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Mohol is in a contest against Ravindra Dhangekar of the Congress party, who represents the INDIA alliance in this constituency. - Raosaheb Patil Danve, the Union Minister and BJPs candidate for the Jalna Lok Sabha seat, has exercised his vote at a polling station in Jalna, Maharashtra. Danve currently holds the position of Member of Parliament from this constituency. The INDIA alliance has nominated Congress leader Kalyan Vaijinathrao Kale as their candidate for this seat. - Security measures have been implemented throughout the Pune constituency for the fourth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
