Simple ways to get good sleep

Here are some of the things to keep in mind to get your daily natural sleep.

Sleep is something that we all love the most. No doubt most of us would choose to sleep over every other thing in this world. It is the biggest gift to our body and necessity too. Tension, physical tiredness and lack of concentration, sleep is a one-stop solution to renovate your body daily.  And if you lose sleep you could be caught in numerous health and mental problems. The lifestyle that we are living today has left thousands of people deprived of good sleep.

Here are some of the things to keep in mind to get your daily natural sleep.




 1. The most important is that you should not take sleep for granted. You should prioritize your sleepover other things and should have the intent to sleep. When it is your sleep time you should put everything on hold and take your sleep timely.


2. Keep your dinners moderate, neither too heavy nor too light. Just enough for you to sleep before hunger hits. A bowl of salad is good enough but enriched with a few nuts, a little fat, small amount of protein. Just a veg soup and salad may leave you wanting for more. A simple whole-grain meal without the use of any protein could also do the trick.


3. Switch off all the lights half an hour before bed. Melatonin is a natural hormone that invites sleep but artificial lights ( Phone screen, tube light) inhibits the release of melatonin thus hindering your sleep. Make sure you do not hinder your sleep.


4. Tryptophan based foods: Foods containing tryptophan like peanuts, a slice of cheese, eggs, spinach, seeds, a glass of milk are all foods that contain the amino acid, tryptophan can boost serotonin production. Serotonin is imperative for brain function and the pendulum of sleep.


5. Biological cycle is something that we all should consider for a good sleep  and healthy life.  It`s not enough to sleep long, it`s important to sleep right too. Sleeping and waking up at the same time every day allows the sleep-wake cycle to function at its best.   The body`s repair agents function best at night allowing the body to cross the 5 stages of sleep effectively which along with repair can build new learning pathways in your brain.
