WHO acknowledges Corona virus can be airborne indoors

The recognition comes after the group faced pressure from hundreds of scientists to update its guidance on the transmission of the coronavirus.

The World Health Organization(WHO) released a scientific brief that acknowledged that coronavirus can be transmitted through the air in indoor settings.

The scientific brief said that the spread of the virus through these small droplets called aerosols may have been at least partially responsible for outbreaks reported: "during choir practice, in restaurants or in fitness classes."

"In these events, short-range aerosol transmission, particularly in specific indoor locations, such as crowded and inadequately ventilated spaces over a prolonged period of time with infected persons cannot be ruled out," the brief said.

The recognition comes after the group faced pressure from hundreds of scientists to update its guidance on transmission of the coronavirus.
