Using electro-magnetic force, the maglev train “levitates” above the track with no contact between body and rail. The Shanghai maglev train or Shanghai Transrapid is a magnetic levitation train line that operates in Shanghai. It is the oldest commercial maglev still in operation, and the first commercial high-speed maglev with a cruising speed of 431 kph.
