International Nurses Week commemorated

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, May 22To commemorate International Nurses Week, a programme was organised by staff and students of International Nursing College, under Chief Khalsa Diwan, on Monday. Dr Santokh Singh graced the occasion as chief guest and Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai was the guest of honour. CKD vice president Sarabjit Singh, honorary secretary, Surinder Singh Rumalian Wale, Chairman Dr SS Walia, Prabhjot Singh Sethi, Harminder Singh, Dr Dharamveer Singh, college staff and students were present were also present at the occasion. President CKD Dr Santokh Singh advised students to follow the footsteps of Florence Nightingale. Various sports, role play, dance, poem recitation, speech, rangoli, poster making competitions were conducted in the four houses of college.

The programme marked the end of the nursing week. Dr Santokh Singh graced the occasion as chief guest and Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai was the guest of honour. In his welcome address, Chairman Dr SS Walia highlighted the devotion of Florence Nightingale towards humanity. On the occasion, Chief Khalsa Diwan Management honoured Santosh Sohi, former Nursing Superintendent at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital and Escort Hospital; Kulwant Bhatia, deputy director nursing, registrar PNRC and former principal of Government Nursing School; Balwinder Kaur Buttar, former Principal of Government Nursing college and founder principal of Khalsa College of Nursing; Paramjit Kaur, Principal of City College of Nursing for their selfless dedication in the field of nursing. President CKD Dr Santokh Singh advised students to follow the footsteps of Florence Nightingale. Dr Ghai made students aware of National Health Care programmes. Various sports, role play, dance, poem recitation, speech, rangoli, poster making competitions were conducted in the four houses of college.
