Youth booked for raping minor

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, May 24The Majitha police have booked a youth for allegedly raping a teenage girl besides videographing her and capturing her nude pictures. “We are checking the antecedents of Rahul Sharma who is yet to be arrested. The accused has been identified as Rahul Sharma of Majitha. She stated to the police that her parents were lodged in a jail in connection with some case. She said that her parents were lodged in the jail over some dispute, so she couldn’t tell them.

Amritsar, May 24 The Majitha police have booked a youth for allegedly raping a teenage girl besides videographing her and capturing her nude pictures. Though the incident occurred on April 8, the victim filed a complaint with the police on Wednesday evening. The accused has been identified as Rahul Sharma of Majitha. She stated to the police that her parents were lodged in a jail in connection with some case. She narrated the incident to them when they were released, following which the police complaint was lodged. The 17-year-old victim is a Class X student. According to her, he used to stalk her whenever she went to school. “At around 9 am on April 8 when I was going to school, he reached there and took me to a house located at the Kathunangal road on the pretext of having juice. He established physical relations with me forcibly and also captured my pictures and video. He threatened that in case I screamed or raise the alarm, two of his accomplices will also rape me,” she alleged. She said that her parents were lodged in the jail over some dispute, so she couldn’t tell them. When they were released, she narrated the entire episode to them. Later, her mother approached the police for help. Sukhraj Singh, SHO, Majitha police station, said the matter was under investigation. “We are checking the antecedents of Rahul Sharma who is yet to be arrested. The victim’s medical examination is being conducted,” he said. A case under Section 376 of the IPC and 7 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 has been registered.
