Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, June 18Members of various farmer associations staged a protest in front of the office of PSPCL’s Chief Engineer here on Monday The protesters demanded minimum 16-hour power supply for tubewells in the coming paddy transplantation season and 24-hour power supply in villages. Rattan Singh Randhawa, vice-president of the Jamhoori Kisan Sabha, said all defunct electricity transformer should be replaced immediately. He said farmers would not be able to irrigate their paddy nurseries due to a shortage of power. The farmers also demanded the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme be initiated.
