Cow carcasses found, Abohar tense

ABOHAR: Tension prevailed in the city after carcasses of eight cows were found near Malout road here on Sunday. They then informed the Krishna Gau Sewa, Daulatpura.A team of the gaushala reached the spot and found the carcasses besides one cow in critical condition and reported the matter to the police. According to information, an unidentified truck driver reportedly dumped these on Saturday night and these were spotted by some locals on Sunday morning. Thereafter, a large number of people from the nearby areas and activists of Hindu outfits gathered at the spot. They were demanding the arrest of the persons involved in this.

They then informed the Krishna Gau Sewa, Daulatpura.A team of the gaushala reached the spot and found the carcasses besides one cow in critical condition and reported the matter to the police. On getting the information, a team of higher police officials, led by Gurleen Singh Khurana, SSP, Fazilka, arrived at the spot and initiated investigations while the carcasses were sent for a post-mortem examination.The incident came to the notice when some passersby spotted these lying scattered near Gobindgarh link road. They immediately informed the police and other people about the incident. Consequently, the news spread like wild fire in the area. Thereafter, a large number of people from the nearby areas and activists of Hindu outfits gathered at the spot. They were demanding the arrest of the persons involved in this. The injured cow was taken to the Daulatpura gaushala for treatment while a panel of doctors was formed under Dr Rajinder Bansal, deputy director, animal husbandry department to perform the post-mortem examination and the viscera was sent to Kharar forensic lab.The SSP said, "Prima-facie it looks like the animals died due to suffocation, but the real cause of death could be ascertained only after getting the autopsy report," he said, adding that a case had been registered against unidentified persons and an investigation had already been initiated.
