Punjab: Robbers open fire, loot Rs 10 lakh from Muktsar filling station

The police said that around four occupants who came in a swift car had opened the fire on two employees of a petrol pump who were on their way to deposit the money in the bank. The police added that the accused first hit the two-wheeler of the employees of filling station in Malout. The police said that all the three accused came out of the car and one of them opened fire on them.Among the employees, Gagandeep Singh was shot at by the accused while another victim was hit by some sharp-edged weapon. The robbers then took away Rs 9.9 lakh from the victims."One of the employees Gagandeep Singh who works as a manager at petrol filling station received two gun-shots including the one at the stomach and another at his shoulder while another victim identified as Gurcharan Singh received mild injuries. The robbers then fled away with the amount kept in the store-box of two-wheeler of the victims. We have registered the case under sections 395, 397 of IPC and section 25 of Arms act," said the Station House Officer Muktsar city police station. He added that the investigating teams were formed to probe the matter and CCTV footages in the city were thoroughly looked to trace and nab the accused.
