Police firing: SP, five DSPs among 26 examined by SIT

Among the 26 questioned by SIT was superintendent of police Paramjit Singh Pannu, five deputy superintendents of police and non-gazetted officers.Two members of SIT IG Arunpal Singh and Kapurthala SSP Satinder Singh recorded their statements. They said they had assembled at Kotkapura light point the next day when police resorted to unprovoked firing at 6 in the morning.In Phagwara , the SIT examined 26 police officials and personnel here on Thursday. While statements of some police officials have been recorded, of some others, they are yet to be recorded.”Sources said the eyewitnesses told the team that they had assembled at Kotkapura on October 13, 2015 and were taken to police stations but were let off after some time.
