Government Railway Police registers FIR against unknown persons

AMRITSAR: The Government Railway Police ( GRP ) have registered an FIR into the case of the train accident which killed around 59 persons.Amritsar GRP station house officer (SHO) Dharmander Kalyan informed on Saturday that a case had been registered against unknown persons under Sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), Section 304A (causing death by negligence), Section 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and Section 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC on the complaint of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Satnam Singh, in-charge of Golden Avenue police post, under Mohkampura police station.Satnam said he was on his duty at around 6.55pm when he heard people crying for help near the railway track across the boundary wall of Dhobi Ghat and alerted the GRP.
