Expelled former MPs call Sukhbir Badal anti-panthic

"Brahmpura had last month resigned from the post of SAD's senior vice-president as well as its core committee membership citing age and health reasons. They are going to go on a tour of the state to show the "real face of SAD" under the leadership of Sukhbir Badal.While talking to TOI after his expulsion from party on Sunday, Brahmpura said, "We will be meeting other SAD leaders who think like us and are unhappy with the present leadership. A few of them are already in touch with us." Besides, he said, they would travel across Punjab to tell people about the glorious past of SAD and its downfall under Sukhbir's leadership."We will ensure that the slogan 'Jija-sala bhajao, tae SAD bachao' (remove brothers-in-law, save SAD) is on everyone's lips," the MP said.The public show of dissent in the Akali Dal had started last month when veteran party leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had resigned from all posts and two-time MP from Ferozpur Sher Singh Ghubaya had announced to not contest Lok Sabha elections on party ticket under Sukhbir."The only mistake on our part was that we didn't raise our objection in public earlier but only in party meetings," Brahmpura said.When contacted, Ajnala said, "I have not received any official information but it was expected as we had raised our voice." He said no Sikh could forgive the people behind giving pardon to controversial chief of Dera Sacha Sauda Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and the Bargari incident.He said as long as Parkash Singh Badal had the reigns of the party, there was no problem but ever since Sukhbir took control, he had made it a family affair. "There is no democracy in the party under Sukhbir," he said.MP Brahmpura's son and ex-MLA Ravinder Singh said that as long as Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia remains in party there was no going back to party fold.
