Why would anyone attack us," said the Sant Nirankari Mission in charge of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, Joginder Kaur. "She said since the 1978 incident, Nirankaris had never come under attack nor was there ever any clash since. We don't know who is our foe. The only possible reason behind attack on their Nirankari Bhawan could be that they were easy target, she added. It never occurred to us so we never even demanded security," said Joginder.

AMRITSAR: "We don't have animosity against anyone. We don't know who is our foe. We only talk about our 'satguru'. Why would anyone attack us," said the Sant Nirankari Mission in charge of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, Joginder Kaur. She was talking to newspersons here on Monday, a day after three persons were killed and 20 injured in grenade attack at its branch in Adliwal village of Amritsar. When asked that members of Sikh bodies like Satkar Committee had often censured the sect, she said, "A few differences are everywhere. We have been asking them to come and talk to us if they had objection over something. We could solve it but we don't have anything against anyone."She said since the 1978 incident, Nirankaris had never come under attack nor was there ever any clash since. "We had no remotest of the idea that we would be attacked. It never occurred to us so we never even demanded security," said Joginder. The only possible reason behind attack on their Nirankari Bhawan could be that they were easy target, she added. "Our bhawans were situated every 8-9 km in Punjab. There has never been any police security during religious gatherings at Nirankari bhawans," she said. However, she said following the Sunday's grenade attack, the Punjab government had offered them security at their branches even in the villages. "Our mission is to spread peace. If anyone had problem with us we never knew about it," she said. "Dushman ka pata ho to kuchh karein na (We could do something only if we knew our enemy)," she saidWhen asked about the absence of CCTV cameras at the Rajasansi branch of Nirankari bhawan where the incident had happened, Joginder said they were in process of installing the CCTV cameras and had even hired a company. "Of course, it is a delay on our part," she said.
