AMRITSAR: For the second consecutive day SAD leadership arrived at the Golden Temple to perform sewa (voluntary service) of cleaning shoes, langar and to listen to kirtan seeking forgiveness for the involuntary mistakes committed during their 10-year regime in Punjab.Party patron Parkash Singh Badal , who arrived at the Golden Temple amid tight security but in full media glare, refrained from talking to journalists. But when asked about his reaction on chief minister Amarinder Singh calling SAD's forgiveness drive as 'apology drama', Badal halted and said that it was not necessary to reply to the chief minister's comments. " Guru is important or the chief minister?" he questioned, adding that SAD neither required any certificate from him nor it deemed fit to reply to his comments.The party had begun akhand path on Saturday, seeking forgiveness for the inadvertent mistakes that could have been made by the party during its rule. However, the leadership has left media guessing about the 'mistakes' since none of the SAD leaders said anything about the 'mistakes'. Badal said media would have to wait till Monday since SAD had decided not to talk on any issue till the 'bhog' of akhand path.Badal said SAD was performing sewa due to its consciousness and not on the directions of anybody. When asked that his former colleagues turned dissident Akali leaders had also termed SAD's forgiveness drive as a 'drama', he instead questioned "How can anybody be Akali if he is not in SAD." He said that there was nothing personal against them.
