Patiala: Man booked for attempting to rape 11-year-old girl

PATIALA: Patran police have booked a 55-year-old man for allegedly attempting to rape an 11-year-old girl. The accused have been booked under sections of rape attempt and sections of the POCSO Act.The police said that accused have been arrested. "The accused was nabbed soon after the girl's father approached us with a complaint that the man tried raped his daughter. Then he tried to rape the girl. The girl was in trauma so we will get her medical examination conducted on Saturday," Patran SHO said.

PATIALA: Patran police have booked a 55-year-old man for allegedly attempting to rape an 11-year-old girl. The accused have been booked under sections of rape attempt and sections of the POCSO Act.The police said that accused have been arrested. Police said he confessed to his crime saying he had only "touched" the survivor. The police said that incident took place when the family members of the accused were not present in the house.The police revealed that the accused runs a dairy from his house. When the minor girl visited his house to collect milk, he called her inside gave her some eatables to her. Then he tried to rape the girl."The accused was nabbed soon after the girl's father approached us with a complaint that the man tried raped his daughter. We along with the officials of child Protection Committee had some counseling of the girl and then she revealed the entire incident following which a case was registered. The probe into the matter is being conducted and the accused will be produced in the court by Saturday. The complainant, who also hails from Patran town, claimed that the survivor had narrated her ordeal when asked why she was frightened. The girl was in trauma so we will get her medical examination conducted on Saturday," Patran SHO said.
