BATHINDA: AAP state convener Bhagwant Mann on Sunday held election meetings in favour of party MP Prof Sadhu Singh and threw open the party’s election office in Jaito town of Faridkot.Sadhu is seeking a re-election from Faridkot parliamentary constituency. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sadhu won by 1.72 lakh votes, which was the second highest winning margin in Punjab after Bhagwant Mann’s 2.11-lakh vote victory.Noted Punjabi singer Mohammad Sadique is among the contenders for the Congress ticket from Faridkot.Mann, addressing party activists after inaugurating the party office, took jibes at the Congress and the SAD-BJP. He described both parties as anti-people and anti-poor. He said leaders of both the parties had one agenda: acquire money and muscle power and use them in elections. “When the Congress made a lot of promises with people before 2017 assembly elections, people believed them, but started repenting their decision to elect it as its promises started falling flat. People have now realised that nothing has changed with the Congress gaining power. Only faces have changed, otherwise everything else is like it was during the SAD-BJP regime in Punjab before 2017,” he said.Mann said if political parties had the will power and urge to serve people, everything was possible. He said the AAP government in Delhi had showcased this by refurbishing education and healthcare infrastructure.Sadhu and Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan appealed to people to give both Congress and SAD-BJP a “crushing defeat” and pave the way for the formation of a third-front government at the Centre.
