Drug racket running from jail busted, three arrests made

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, June 7With the arrest of three persons, the city police on Friday claimed to have busted a drug racket running allegedly from inside the Amritsar Central Jail. According to a police investigation, the accused were running their racket using mobile and making payments from mobile application ‘Paytm’. Besides, the police have booked four prisoners — Palwinder Singh of Kukkranwala, Sukhwinder Singh of Pakka Killa Jhabal, Eric, aias Kanni, of Fateh Singh Colony and Prince of Fakir Singh Colony. DCP (Investigations) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said four jail inmates were running a drug network from inside the jail. Responding to this, jail authorities launched a search operation and seized three mobile phones from Prince, Sukhwinder Singh and Sukhchain Singh.
