Three booked for immigration fraud

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, June 15The Amritsar rural police have booked three persons, including a woman, for allegedly duping a local resident on the pretext of getting his son settled abroad. They have been identified as Rupinder Kaur, her father Niranjan Singh and brother Rashpal Singh, all residents of Naurangpur in Kapurthala. The Bhindisaida police have registered a case under Sections 420, 120-B of the IPC and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act against them. An investigation was carried by SP (Investigations) Harpal Singh who recommended registration of case. The complainant has demanded immediate arrest of the accused and recovery of Rs 12.50 lakh that he paid to them.

They have been identified as Rupinder Kaur, her father Niranjan Singh and brother Rashpal Singh, all residents of Naurangpur in Kapurthala. The Bhindisaida police have registered a case under Sections 420, 120-B of the IPC and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act against them. No arrest has been made till now. The case was registered following a probe conducted by SP (Investigations). Complainant Dayal Singh, a resident of Jasraur village, informed the police that the accused approached him in March 2017 and took Rs 12.50 lakh for getting his son Gurdev Singh settled in Canada. They neither kept their promise nor returned the money. He filed a complaint in April this year. An investigation was carried by SP (Investigations) Harpal Singh who recommended registration of case. The complainant has demanded immediate arrest of the accused and recovery of Rs 12.50 lakh that he paid to them.
