BRIEFLY Tarn Taran: Dilbag Singh Jajja of Kasel village has been nabbed by the Sarai Amanat Khan police with 152 gm of heroin. Sub-Inspector (SI) Hardip Singh, who arrested the accused, said a case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered. The police are trying to ascertain where did he procure the contraband from and to whom it was meant. OC Schools to promote reading Amritsar: The Education Department has asked theschool heads to promote the habit of reading among kids. The department has issued instructions after it was found that many schools were not promoting the idea of effective reading and use of library. The schools have been asked to designate time for students to read books and make use of library. The department expects an increase in the number of book readers at school level. TNS Girl abducted Tarn Taran: Harwinder Singh of Dasuwal village has been booked for allegedly abducting a teenage girl of the same village. The incident took place five days ago. The victim’s mother informed the police that she, along with her son, was out out for farm labour and when they returned, they found the girl missing. The Valtoha police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366-A of the IPC. OC
