Sabharwal recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who sacrificied their lives for the country. The DC also highlighted the schemes of the state government, such as farm loan waiver. A cultural programme was presented and kin of freedom fighters and others with remarkable performances in different fields were honoured. Sewing machines were also distributed among women of economically weak families.
