Tributes paid to Attarjit Kaur Suri

She wrote travelogues, short stories, biography of her father-in-law, among others. She will always be remembered through her writings.”Kulbir Singh Suri, brother-in-law, of Kaur, said, “She was like a mother to me. She was also inclined towards short stories.”She passed away on August 16 at the age of 84. Among present included, Dr Paraminderjit Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Principal Khalsa College for Women, Simarnpreet, Baldev Raj, Kulwant Singh Suri, Navdeep Singh Suri, Kewal Dhaliwal, among others.

Daughter-in-law of Sahitya Academy Award winner Nanak Singh, who penned down the epic poetic novel Khooni Vaisakhi in 1920 as a critical piece of commentary on the bloody Jallianwala massacre by British troops in 1919, came from a literary family and carried the legacy forward. She wrote travelogues, short stories, biography of her father-in-law, among others. Speaking on the occasion, noted Punjabi playwright Jatinder Brar said, “She has left a void. She will always be remembered through her writings.” Kulbir Singh Suri, brother-in-law, of Kaur, said, “She was like a mother to me. I still remember when she got married. She was also inclined towards short stories.” She passed away on August 16 at the age of 84. Among present included, Dr Paraminderjit Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Principal Khalsa College for Women, Simarnpreet, Baldev Raj, Kulwant Singh Suri, Navdeep Singh Suri, Kewal Dhaliwal, among others.
