Gandiwind man dies in Dubai

BRIEFLYTarn Taran: Sukhbir Singh, alias Sonu, a 23-year-old resident of Gandiwind (Dhattal) village, 35 km from here, died in Dubai under mysterious circumstances two days back. Amarjit Singh, sarpanch of the village, said Sukhbir Singh was the only son of Gurmukh Singh, who had gone to Dubai just seven months back to seek job. Residents have requested the district administration and the Central government to help the family bring back the body of Sukhbir Singh to the village. OCChildren visit Golden TempleAmritsar: A 17-member group of children from the UK was immensely happy to see and have a feel of the religious and cultural capital of Punjab here on Monday. District Tourism Officer Gursharan Singh said the tour was organised by the state government under its programme to connect youngsters back to their roots.
