Panel formed to promote food processing industry

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 3A coordination panel comprising officials from Agriculture, Horticulture and Industry Department has been formed to find suitable products to develop the food processing industry in the border district. This was decided at a meeting of officials of these departments chaired by MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla and Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon. Addressing the meeting, Aujla said by using agriculture produce as a raw material for food processing industry, we could induce indusrialisation in the district. He said the city had international connectivity via an international airport and road connectivity to Afghanistan and further to Central Asia through the Attari-Wagah joint check post. The Deputy Commissioner said the coordination panel would compose a project conducive to local conditions.

He said the city had international connectivity via an international airport and road connectivity to Afghanistan and further to Central Asia through the Attari-Wagah joint check post. The Deputy Commissioner said the coordination panel would compose a project conducive to local conditions.
