Teachers protest delay in salary

Unit president Dr Gurdas Singh Sekhon said the local management committee of the college was not paying full salary to the staff for long. He also stated that the dearness allowance to the staff was not paid according to the norms of the government. As a result of this, the teachers had not been paid for the past 13 months, he said. Summi Arora, Principal of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali, Tarn Taran, said: “No rule has been broken and no teacher’s service has been terminated illegally. He also stated that the dearness allowance to the staff was not paid according to the norms of the government.
