Conference on cancer cure held

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 21Two national-level conferences were organised at Sri Guru Ram Das(SGRD) University of Health Sciences here on Saturday. Dr GK Rath, Director, National Cancer Institute, Jhajjar, was chief guest at the Conference of Association of Radiation Oncologist of India (AROI). Former head, radiation onlocogy AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr Rath, also inspected the state of art CT simulator, triple energy linear accelerator with facilities of IMRT and IGRT and brachytherapy at the institute. Dr Meena Sudan, Professor and Head, radiation oncology said that SGRD university had always been a pioneer for the latest advancements in medical field under the guidance and futuristic vision of Dr AP Singh, Dean University. Dr VP Lakhanpal, former president of Indian Radiology and Imaging Association was the chief guest.

Other senior medical experts included, Dr Rajesh Vashistha, director, radiation oncology, Max Hospital, Bathinda, and president AROI, Dr Vivek Kaushal, professor and head radiation oncology from Pandit BD Sharma, PGI, Rohtak, Dr Sushmita Ghoshal, Prof and Head PGI Chandigarh, Dr Manoj Gupta from AIIMS Rishikesh and others. Dr Meena Sudan, Professor and Head, radiation oncology said that SGRD university had always been a pioneer for the latest advancements in medical field under the guidance and futuristic vision of Dr AP Singh, Dean University. The second Interventional Radiology Meet-cum-Workshop, a two-day event which began today in collaboration with Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Academy of Medical Evaluators and Interpreters was attended by around 400 delegates. Dr VP Lakhanpal, former president of Indian Radiology and Imaging Association was the chief guest.
