DAV students show talent in song contest

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, October 18An inter-school national group song competition was organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Central, under the leadership of parishad’s president Prof HS Walia at DAV International School. DAV Senior Secondary School stood first, while DAV International School and Holy Heart Presidency bagged the second and third position respectively. Addressing at inaugural session, OP Soni lauded the contribution of Bharat Vikas Parishad in the domain of social service and announced a grant of Rs 1 lakh. He also announced monetary assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the developmental activities of DAV International School. Sandeep Rishi and state president of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Shiv Gautam, along with Anjana Gupta and Prof HS Walia gave away prizes to the winners.

Principal Anjana Gupta, Prof Walia and project incharge R D Sharma extended floral welcome to the chief guest of inaugural session Cabinet Minister OP Soni and chief guest of valedictory session Sandeep Rishi, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation. As many as 14 teams participated in the contest. DAV Senior Secondary School stood first, while DAV International School and Holy Heart Presidency bagged the second and third position respectively.
