Hailing the participants on the addition of another feather in their cap in the form of participation in an orientation programme, he counselled them to disseminate the knowledge, scholarly expertise, erudition gained during the programme not only amongst their students, but also their peers. Only then the real aim of such courses can be accomplished, he added. He expressed his deep anguish over the fact that the teachers of today try to avoid the duties related to their profession like, paper-setting, invigilation, evaluation etc., which, he emphasised, are in fact, an indispensable part of their profession. The teaching community at large can’t afford to confine itself only to classroom teaching, but, we have to realise our other responsibilities towards the society as well, particularly, in the current scenario, he concluded.
