The mall authorities had paid the tax collectively according to the size of the showrooms. MC officials said the showroom owners had taken property on rent in the mall and according to the rules, they had to pay the tax separately as per the rent amount. During scrutiny, the MC officials found that the tax should have been deposited separately as the showrooms are rented properties.
