Woman assaulted, husband booked

Amritsar, April 22After a murderous attack on a woman, the police have booked her husband on the charges of attempt to murder. The victim, Paramjit Kaur, said her husband, Arshal Singh, son of Amrik Singh of Antaryami Colony in the Sultanwind area, was an alcoholic and used to physically assault her whenever he was drunk. She alleged that on last Saturday, the accused returned home in an inebriated condition and started beating her. They said further investigations were under progress and raids were being conducted to arrest the accused. Police authorities said a case under Sections 307 and 511, IPC, following a medio-legal report has been registered.

She said she was married to the accused around 10 years ago. She alleged that on last Saturday, the accused returned home in an inebriated condition and started beating her. He was repeatedly shouting, “I will kill you”. Later, the accused hit her with an object. She was admitted to the Civil Hospital in a serious condition. Police authorities said a case under Sections 307 and 511, IPC, following a medio-legal report has been registered. They said further investigations were under progress and raids were being conducted to arrest the accused.
