Amritsar, April 28 A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth when she was alone at her home yesterday evening. The incident occurred in Haripura area that falls under the Islamabad police station. The accused has been identified as Rahul, a resident of Wadda Haripura. He is on the run. The victim, in her complaint to the police, said that her mother worked as a domestic help and she left for her work as usual yesterday. Meanwhile, the accused entered her house at around 3 pm and covered her face with a piece of cloth and raped her. She also sustained injuries at her forehead during the assault. Sub-Inspector Simarjit Kaur, who is investigating the case, said raids were on to arrest the accused. The medical examination of the girl had been conducted, she added. A case under Sections 323, 376 and 506 of the IPC, and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against him. Meanwhile, a girl was molested by a youth, identified as Major Singh, a resident of Sachander village, falling under the Airport police station here. The victim said the accused came to her house on the pretext of taking ice and committed lewd act with her. He ran away when she raised the alarm. A case under Sections 354, 354-A and 509 of the IPC has been registered against him. He is yet to be arrested, the police said.
